• 3 egg whites
  • 1/8 t. cream of tartar
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 c. grated cheese

Yep!  You read it correctly!  While searching for some Paleo snacks, I found a Cheetos recipe. While they don’t look anything like Cheetos, this snack tastes just like them without the atomic orange fingers afterward.

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.

Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites, cream of tartar and salt in a mixer until there are stiff peaks.  Add 1/2 c. grated cheese by folding it into the eggs.

Spoon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 30 minutes, then turn off the oven letting the snacks cool inside.

Sprinkle with seasoning salt and serve.

A couple of tips:

  1.  If the eggs are at room temperature, they’ll beat easier.
  2. These snacks will not last so only bake what you plan on eating – which will be the entire batch since they’re so good!
  3. You could add anything really to the egg mix – chocolate, finely minced herbs. Just keep in mind that the “additive” will carry all the flavor.
