I don’t usually do a lot of bare bones cooking as my kitchen is pretty well stocked.  However, there are those few times when you’re out in the wilds with only a teaspoon on hand (or you’re at a non-cooking friends’ house and all they have is the standard teaspoon).  Here are some measurement equivalents that will come in handy… if you’re hiking the Appalachian trail or in downtown Chicago.

16 tablespoons (T) = 1 cup (c)

12 T = 3/4 c

10T + 2 teaspoons (t) = 2/3 c

8T = 1/2 c

6T = 3/8 c

5T = 1 t = 1/3 c

4T = 1/4 c

2T + 2 t = 1/6 c

2c = 1 pint (pt)

2 pt = 1 quart (qt)

3t = 1T

48 t = 1 cup
